It was one week ago that Murphy, then named Hugo, came home with me. When I saw his picture online, I knew that he would be mine. On Saturday afternoon I went to the Ontario Humane Society and met Hugo. It was love at first sight and a ½ hour later Hugo came home with me. The first thing we did when we left the Humane Society was to go to Petco for supplies. He was such a good boy in the car and enjoys car rides. Hugo desperately needed a haircut, as he had knots on his ears, legs, feet and tail. It made me angry that he was not better taken care of and I worried that the knots were hurting him. Petco was unable to groom him, so we bought shampoo, condition, brush, comb and scissors. At home he was brushed out, given a bath and haircut. He was so patient during his bath and haircut. After Hugo was groomed, I realized that he did not know his name. I changed his name to Murphy because words ending in y or e are easier for dogs to recognize. Murphy is a great dog and I feel blessed to have him. He is loved by everyone that meets him and is extremely affectionate. Murphy is learning to sit, lay down, stay and come. He is a fast learner and can now sit. He also is learning to go the bathroom outside. Murphy does not like his crate. He cried the first night, so I gave in and he now has a spot at the foot of the bed. I love my Murphy! Thank you Humane Society for bringing a bundle of joy into my life!
